A core part of our curriculum at NCC is our innovative student leadership model. We aim to develop leadership skills in students across the Primary and Secondary campuses.
School Captains and Vice Captains are chosen after a robust application and interview process. The Captains work as part of a wider leadership team to oversee spiritual, social and fundraising activities at the school.
The SRC is made up of two representatives from each year level from Years 7-11. Each class votes on one girl and one boy from each year level. The SRC is run by the School Captains and Vice Captains, along with a teacher mentor.
Each house elects their captains and vice captains at the start of the school year. These house leaders are charged with developing team spirit and encouraging participation in sports carnivals and school events.
NCC runs a Peer Support Program for Year 7 students. Each Year 7 student is given a Year 11 mentor to act as a support throughout the beginning of their high school journey. Year 11 student mentors have to apply to be part of this Peer Support Program.
Each year, a section of our school leaders apply and are then selected to go on a training course with GRIP- an independent values driven organisation that trains and develops school leaders.
Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
