Enterprising Girls Workshop

NCC Girls make the 8!

Published on Thursday 25 July, 2024

In Term 2 our Year 7 and 8 girls participated in an Enterprising Girls Workshops run by the Young Change Agents. The students were asked to complete a Design Challenge which asked them to address the question, "How might we reimagine the Future of Food?"

They needed to select one of the following themes to come up with a possible solution:

  • Connection and Joy through Food
  • Food Sustainability
  • Food and Technology
  • Regional and Rural Food Growth and Production
  • Indigenous Food & Agriculture.

Our students were then encouraged to submit their ideas along with young people from around Australia via the Young Change Agents website.

I am very pleased to announce that the following groups have been selected as finalists in the Future Food Youth Design Challenge 2024.

Junior Category (Age 10-13)

Senior Cateogry (Age 14-21)

  • Munchbear by Emily, Jeanelle, Hillary, Jessica, Elise & Prakshi
    Nunawading Christian College, VIC

You can click on the above links to see their project pitches.

Congratulations to our finalists and Year 7 and 8 girls who participated in the Enterprising Workshop and submitted their project pitches. Seeing such creativity and passion for issues impacting our local and global communities was wonderful.

We are looking forward to running a workshop with our Year 7 and 8 boys in early September to examine the question “How might we create a generation of resilient young people who proactively build positive mental health?”
