Learning and Teaching at Nunawading Christian College is about educating the ‘whole’ child; a well balanced approach to linking the spiritual, physical and academic needs of an individual.
Central to our Christian philosophy is the view that every child matters and deserves a high quality education that caters to their own individual learning needs. We aim to provide quality Christian education in a caring, safe and inspiring learning environment.
We actively seek to develop in our students a passion for learning, to develop character for life and to actively engage in the world around them. Students are encouraged to embrace their education and the opportunity it affords, to be independent thinkers and to develop productive habits of mind, engaging critically with what they learn so they are prepared for the challenges of our modern world.
Our curriculum is Bible-based, Christ-centred, Service-oriented and Kingdom-directed.
Australian Curriculum, the Encounter Bible Curriculum and the Keeping Safe Wellbeing Curriculum are used for all subject areas from Foundation to Year 10.
A diverse range of VCE subject choices are offered at NCC, including all university pre-requisite subjects. Subjects not offered at NCC can be accessed by external providers including a VSL (Victorian School of Language) Distance Education and TAFE providers. Year 10 students are invited to apply to participate in an early VCE extension program thereby expanding their experiences and subject choices.
