Over the last few weeks the Prep/1 class has been learning about the needs of animals. The culmination of this learning was the creation of a habitat for a toy animal. Each habitat had to include shelter, air, water, food and sun. Lots of imagination was used as each child designed the living space for their creature.
An excited group of Year 6 Mathematicians boarded the small bus and made their way to Gilson College at Taylors Hill to join with students from other ASV schools in mixed groups to solve a number of mathematical problems. Students enjoyed a great day getting to know students from other schools and grappling with those elusive problems.
Approx 50 students from Years 4-6 represented our school at the District Track and Field Day. During the 2 weeks of swimming lessons, regular PE classes were not held. Despite this, the students were willing and enthusiastic in their chosen disciplines, performing particularly well in the track events. Three of our students will go on to compete at the next level in the Division Track and Field Day early in Term 4.
