There are limited places available for Year 7 at NCC in 2019. It is recommended families apply before September 10 to participate in the Step Up to Secondary program. This program gives students the best chance to meet their classmates and get to know staff before commencing Secondary next year.
Ahoy, me hearties! NCC Primary school has been taken over by a band of scallywag students, searching for treasure in books this week as they celebrated Book Week.
The theme has been “Find your treasure” so students have enjoyed looking into new books each day as they rotated to different classrooms and teachers. There was excitement and sighs of awe as they explored the new library space for”Story Time” during lunch times as staff and students read their favourite picture books. The children loved snuggling into the beanbags and giant teddy bears while being taken on a journey of books!
All hands were on the deck with the grand finale on Thursday. Anne of Green Gables, Elsa, pirates, Little Miss Sunshine, superheroes and even Jonah with his whale came to school for the annual Book Parade, just to name a few. The ELC and Primary students enjoyed walking the gang plank in their costumes and sharing about their book characters. Thanks to the many parents who came to watch the parade and for inspiring their children to think creatively.
Arrrgh! Shiver me timbers! It was a rip-roaring success and we are ready to set the sails again to explore the seven seas in search of treasure in books.
Primary students – have you started collecting 5 cent pieces again this Term?!
Don’t forget to collect as many as you can and pop them in your House colour jar in your classroom.
Near the end of Term, the House which has raised the most money from 5 cent pieces will have a Casual Clothes day. All the Houses will receive House points according to the amount they raise – so start collecting!
