Creative Arts
Our Creative Arts Festival Day was a fun way of focusing on student wellbeing. Thank you to our specialist teachers for supporting our students via video demonstrations in a range of exciting activities! Students used coffee as paint to create winter trees, folded origami fish, learnt some choreographed movements and actions for worship songs, practised Chinese calligraphy, made healthy fruit balls and prepared rice paper rolls. Year 4
MasterChefs
Year 4 recently kicked off their first Writing lesson on the genre of ‘Procedures’, with a hands-on experience. The class members became MasterChefs! They met each other in their kitchens – remotely of course! They aproned up, washed their hands and made scones. It was so much fun! The students loved the experience, especially being able to eat what they had created – with whipped cream and jam (if they were lucky enough to have some on hand!) Prep
Creating and Making
Each week the Prep class has time to be creative, both indoors and outdoors. Ms Austen gives them instructions via the online platform ‘Seesaw’ and the students get to build and make, then upload a photo or video of their creations. Maker Monday, Wonderful Wednesday and Fantastic Friday give them a chance to be off-screen and play – with a STEM focus!
