Position Available: Student Wellbeing/ Counselling Officer

Nunawading Christian College is seeking to employ a Wellbeing Officer on a fixed-term part-time basis (22.5 hours per week) starting 8 August 2022 and concluding 10 December 2022 (with the possibility of an extension into 2023). This position is open to provisionally registered Psychologists and Counsellors.

The successful applicant will assist the school community by providing pastoral care, general, social and emotional comfort to all students.  Including support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships, and emotional issues; the provision of student welfare; and enhancing engagement with the broader community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following role requirements:

  1. Qualifications and experience in teaching, social work, youth work, psychology or a relevant community health or welfare field.
  2. Understanding of common approaches, policies, programs and research relating to student welfare.
  3. Experience in the delivery of student and family wellbeing services in a relevant setting and preferably, experience working with schools in the area of student wellbeing.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the coordination of services and the provision of information, support and consultation.
  5. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with a wide range of people within the education and wider community.
