Getting to Know Mr Marsh
Mr Larnelle Marsh is a new teacher in our Secondary school but he isn’t new to Nunawading Christian College. Mr Marsh graduated from NCC in 2013 and is one of many alumni who have returned as teachers. After graduating from teaching in 2018, Mr Marsh spent 2019 relief teaching at local schools including NCC. This year, we are delighted to welcome Mr Marsh to NCC full-time where he will be teaching Year 11 Health and Human Development, Year 11 Text and Traditions and Year 8 and 9 History. He is also the Year 11 Mentor and will be supporting the NCC Student Representative Council (SRC). Find out at little more about Mr Marsh below. Bonus question and answer online at NCC’s Instagram account.
What’s changed and what’s stayed the same at NCC since you were a student?
A lot has changed about the facilities and the way NCC looks. I remember the science rooms and the library were both ancient, now they’re amazing! What has stayed the same is NCC’s emphasis on spiritual development and the strong unique community feel. Students in Year 10 are friends with students in Year 12, which is great. When I am in SRC meetings, our student leaders are continually asking what they can do to strengthen those relationships and grow our community.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Opportunities to engage with students from all year levels. I look forward to camps, carnivals and other activities that promote a sense of NCC community.
Describe teaching in three words

What do you love most about your job?
Establishing positive relationships with students, helping them to experience new things and grow spiritually.
What’s one unique thing you’ve noticed about NCC so far?
NCC is a place where God and His people thrive. Lives are changed. Students are praised, cheered and uplifted for their distinct personalities.
If you weren’t a teacher what would you be and why?
Lots of things! Chaplain, Youth Pastor or a Sports Commentator/Journalist.
