Real-World Learning at Nissan Casting Australia Plant
On Monday 27th August our year 9 & 10 Design and Technologies students were given an awesome out of class learning experience when they participated in a site tour at the Nissan Casting Australia Plant at Dandenong.
This year the class is studying engineering systems and applications including sheet metal, automotive and welding technologies. The experience enriched the students understanding of the manufacturing industry. A very thorough presentation was provided by the Plant’s Business Development personnel which included aspects of sustainability, research and development and metals technology production processes. This excursion has provided our students with a wonderful opportunity to experience first hand key elements of one of our country’s leading manufacturing companies. We look forward to developing our relationship with similar local industry for the benefit of our students.
NCC Secondary wish to thank the Brian, Farha and the team at Nissan Casting for the time they extended to our students and the insights they offered.
