Getting to know Jamie
Jamie is our NCC Secondary chaplain, taking over from Lili as she is away on maternity leave this year. We recently caught up with Jamie to ask what he loves so far about working at NCC.

What do you love most about working at NCC?
Definitely the people. Both the staff and students are so supportive and kindly, I think these attributes really drive the ethos of the school.
What is different about NCC to any other school?
I think there is a high level of extra engagement that the school provides to nurture and grow students. I was amazed when I attended the Year 12 leadership weekend this year at how much mutual respect there was between staff and students. I don’t think it’s common to see such quality mentorship like this between the different generations. I think this investment by staff really helps the students to mature well beyond their years.
What is your favourite memory from your time (so far) working at NCC?
Probably hassling the Year 11’s on the go-kart race track on their Sydney trip – it was a lot of fun being the dark horse in the group. There were some spectacular collisions as well, not to mention any names! haha. Overall though, it was a really good trip for just spending that quality time outside of class time to build connections and support each other, both staff and students. I’m looking forward to many more memory making moments this year!
