On Monday this week, our Year 7 class of 2018 had their Orientation Day at NCC Secondary. This was the finale of the 2017 Step Up to Secondary program. In the morning, Mr Kutschker led the students in a treasure hunt around the school, helping them find their way around the facilities and get to know NCC staff. This was followed by an Art class with Mrs Tierney, who taught the students some of the fundamentals of Art whilst they worked on a collaborative project. Some of the finished works were very entertaining! After lunch, supplied by the school canteen, students tested their strength and agility in a “Ninja Warrior” course with Mr Selent and learned some of the basics of Science in an ice-cream making class with Ms Godfrey. It was a full day and the students really seemed to enjoy themselves. We were particularly proud of our existing NCC students who welcomed the students who are new to NCC and really made them feel part of the class. We’re looking forward to a great year with these students in 2018.
