Our Place in Space – Science Incursion

The Year 3/4 and Year 4 students participated in a range of experiments and engaging activities during their science incursion on Tuesday. There was great excitement as the students made and then exploded a rocket, measured the distance between the major planets in earth’s solar system, learnt about the difference between rotation and orbit, compared time cycles of a planet and observed features of an asteroid with dry ice. It was interesting to see how much maths was involved and our presenter, Lydia, encouraged students to keep developing and asking questions, as the greatest scientist is a person who creates questions to be answered and then seeks to answer them!
