On Tuesday 29th August, NCC Secondary students in Years 7 – 10 were visited by local Youth Resource Officers from the City of Whitehorse, Leading Senior Constable Sophie and Senior Constable Verity. Students were reminded about the importance of practising positive online choices and behaviours, with real life examples shared to demonstrate possible consequences some teens have faced. The presenters further explained the value of respecting oneself, and others, by the choices they make online. Students were given clear perspectives about laws that exist to protect people from online abuse and bullying and how to go about seeking help. NCC Secondary thanks the officers for their time and efforts to encourage students of the importance of their online choices and the real life implications of online behaviour.
