Why did so many people resist the actions of the Nazis during the Holocaust, even when it endangered their own lives? Year 10 History has been examining the Holocaust, exploring what happened, how it happened and why it happened. Unfortunately, this was not the last tragedy of this nature that the world has seen and thus it is important to continue the legacy. Our Year 10 students were sharing this legacy by taking on the persona of someone who chose to resist during the Holocaust to explain what they did and why they decided to take action. The school was divided into groups and each group went to listen to an individual explain who they are and what they did. Additionally, they were left with an inspirational message taken from the life of the resistor. Every few minutes, the groups rotated to the next station to hear another perspective. It is important to remember that regardless of what circumstance we find ourselves in, we always have a choice.
