The theme for NCC’s annual Week of Worship this year was Irresistible. Following this week, our students and families began a service project collecting non-perishable food items for those in need in our local community. Our aim was to share the message of an irresistible and loving God.
Today, student representatives gave the many bags of food collected to ADRA. The food will be redistributed at Vive Cafe.
More about Vive Cafe
Vive Cafe is an ADRA project run by volunteers in Victoria. It is a non-for-profit community catering to 80-120 people every Thursday night. Vive Cafe does more than provide a meals. Guests are greeted at the door by a friendly volunteer and seated at a decorated table complete with a table cloth and candles. Guests then enjoy a 2 or 3 course meal served to them by a team of volunteer waiters. Volunteers also help entertain children and assist guests to find clothes from the mini Op Shop.
Through striving on the 3 core principles of LOVE, GENEROSITY and ACCEPTANCE, Vive Cafe provides a place where everyone, especially those disadvantaged and usually isolated from the community, are welcomed, appreciated and loved. For some, the cafe is their only source of physical and emotional connection with people all week. Find out how you can get involved at Vive Cafe.
Nunawading Christian College is proud to support this amazing project and wishes to thank our parents and students for your generous contributions to our food collection.
